Windows and Their Impact on Your Home
Windows significantly influence the façade of a building and impart a unique style to your home. Key features include size, proportions, color, and shape. Beyond the standard rectangular form, windows can be crafted in a virtually unlimited variety of shapes.
Why Replace Windows?
Energy Efficiency
Did you know that heat loss through windows accounts for over 40% of energy loss? Selecting a profile that retains heat during winter and keeps your home cooler in summer is crucial. Energy efficiency depends on the profile, type of glazing, and spacer bar used.
Sound and Thermal Insulation
To ensure comfort in both homes and offices, attention must be paid to sound and thermal insulation when choosing windows. Noise is a significant yet often overlooked factor affecting health, and good thermal insulation reduces heating and cooling costs. An appropriate profile will ensure that your home remains quiet, peaceful, cool in summer, and warm in winter.
Achieving Better Thermal Insulation
Thermal insulation depends on:
- Profile choice
- Type of glass selected
- Spacer bar with warm edge / High selective spacer bar /
Urban environments with intense traffic require attention to noise reduction, which affects daily comfort and health. Factors enhancing sound insulation include:
- Choice of suitable profiles
- Triple sealing on the window frame
- Use of thicker profiles
- Optimal combination of glass panes in insulated glass units
- Proper sealing with mounting foam and additional finishing work
Enhanced Sun Protection
Sun protection in a room can be achieved using various products – blinds, shutters, curtains, and energy-coated glass.
- ENERGY GLASS – Glass with energy coatings provides excellent sun protection and can be tailored for south or west-facing windows.
- BLINDS – An effective solution for managing sunlight.
- SHUTTERS – Protect windows from environmental elements while giving the façade a distinctive look.
- CURTAINS – Provide sun protection and contribute to interior design.
Burglary Protection
All our windows come with basic security features, but for enhanced safety, we offer products with security hardware. This hardware includes specific locking points and Hoppe Secustik handles + laminated glass, ensuring peace of mind while sleeping or traveling.
Statistics show that windows are the most common entry point for break-ins. We recommend products with basic security level Basic+, featuring at least 2 locking points and Hoppe Secustik handles. For higher security, we suggest RC2 or RC3 security hardware with 7 locking points, Hoppe Secustik handles with a key, and at least one laminated glass pane, 4.4.2, in the window’s glazing unit. Additional security features include blinds and shutters.
